Citrus vs. Tropical
How ripe the grapes are when the wine is made determines which type of fruit flavors it will exhibit- citrus or tropical. Less ripe grapes lead to the wine having citrus flavors like lime, lemon, grapefruit, and green apple, while grapes that are fully ripe will trend more toward the tropical side- think mangoes, bananas, guava, and white peach. This comes down to whether you like tangy and crisp better than you like a hint of sweetness.
