Terravant Wine Company to Kick Off 2017 Harvest Season
with 10th Annual “Blessing of the Grapes” Event
-- Santa Barbara Wine Country’s Largest Winery to Celebrate
Annual Tradition on August 31, 2017 --
August 22, 2017 – Buellton, CA – At 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2017, Terravant Wine Company – the largest winery in Santa Barbara County, with a production capacity of more than one million cases – will commence its tenth harvest with the annual “Blessing of the Grapes” event. The celebration, held outside of Terravant’s winery facility at 35 Industrial Way in Buellton, historically attracts a veritable “who’s who” of the local winemaking community. The event begins with prayers by local clergy of various denominations, continues with a champagne toast, wine and beer tasting, and local cuisine, and culminates with an open-to-the-public harvest anniversary party.
Local clerical officials offering blessings at this year’s event include: Reverend Randall Day of St. Mark's in-the-Valley in Los Olivos; Rabbi Jayne Simon of San Luis Obispo; and Father Chuck Stacy of Solvang. Rabbi Simon and Father Stacy have been participating in the event every year, since it began in 2008.
“Harvest is an exciting time of year around the Santa Ynez Valley and we’re happy to celebrate it with our dedicated employees, our amazing partners and clients, and with the surrounding community,” said Terravant’s President, Lew Eisaguirre. “Ten years is a big milestone. Terravant’s longevity is directly attributable to the hard work of our team and the loyalty of our clients. We are very proud of our safety record and the wellbeing of our team over the years.”
“Blessing of the Grapes” event guests will include friends and family of Terravant’s 120+ employees and 40+ clients, as well as local officials, neighboring businesses on Industrial Way, and local media.
Terravant’s open-to-the-public “10th Anniversary Party” will immediately follow the Blessing of the Grapes, at Bottlest, Terravant’s recently-launched onsite restaurant, nightlife and entertainment venue. The festivities will include live music by rock, Latin and blues artist, Ricky Montijo & The Mojitos, complimentary small bites, a 30% Friends & Family Discount on all food and drinks, a 50% discount on cases of Bottlest branded wines, and an opportunity to taste and purchase a special 10th Anniversary wine.
